How do you deal with the idea of Determinism?

Determinism is the idea that everything (from billiard balls to the neurons in our brains) obeys physical laws, and therefore the world as we know it is just playing out. It implies that we don't have any "free will" since the decisions we make are just a part of a long cause-effect chain. Does this idea trouble anyone, and if it does, how do you deal with it?
