What name is this old pc game from mid 1990's , puzzle in rooms of mansion?

looking for a mid-1990s pc game which opened as you were heading toward an old victorian style house with a shadow figure in the upstairs attic window and you had to cross through a wrought iron gate and up a path with barbed wired like weeds growing throughout and once in the house, you had to solve puzzles in each room in order to progress...there was map of the house that you could access to determine which rooms had puzzles you had solved and which were still pending. there was one game that had blood droplets that reminded me of billiard balls.
